Simulator
Four-channel tactile feedback, up to four D-BOX actuators, and a screen fixed independently from the moving chassis.
GARRA is ImSim’s flagship racing simulator, built around four-channel tactile feedback and a chassis that can run on up to four D-BOX motion actuators.
The display sits on its own stand, independent from the moving chassis. The computer is integrated into the simulator, keeping the installation self-contained. GARRA can be configured static, or with two or four D-BOX actuators.
Screen, wheelbase, wheel, pedals and seat are specified per build, with support for a wide range of compatible hardware.
The chassis, bodywork and driving position form one platform. Screen, wheelbase, wheel, pedals and seat are specified per order, with compatible hardware selected around the driver and the intended use.
01 02 03 04 Motion
In the four actuator configuration, a D-BOX G5 4250i actuator sits beneath each corner of the chassis. The chassis pitches, rolls and heaves with the car, while the screen stays fixed on its own stand throughout the motion, keeping the visual reference still as the chassis moves beneath the driver.
GARRA uses the D-BOX G5 motion system, with FIA licensed motion technology.
Sensory feedback
Four independently controlled transducers give each corner of the car its own tactile channel. Tyre, ABS and surface feedback is reproduced at the position on the chassis that corresponds to the corner it comes from.
Four transducers, one per corner
Tactile system · four transducers
Select a transducer to see which corner of the car it represents.
Front right
FR · tactile transducer
Kerbs and surface on the front right, and lock-up on that wheel under braking.
Front left
FL · tactile transducer
The same for the front left, on a separate channel.
Rear right
RR · tactile transducer
Rear right: the first signs of the rear losing grip.
Rear left
RL · tactile transducer
Rear left: traction out of a corner, and wheelspin on that wheel.
Wheel spin and wheel slip
Per corner, which is how a driver tells the two apart without looking.
ABS
Through the pedal, where it happens in a car.
Surfaces and kerbs
Gravel, kerbs and road texture, on the corner that meets them.
Engine and gearshifts
Revs through the seat, shifts through the chassis.
Driving position
Steering height and pedal reach adjust without tools, so each driver can set the GARRA to their own driving position in seconds.
01
Steering height
A control on the column raises or lowers the steering wheel.
02
Pedal position
The pedal plate slides forwards or backwards, changing reach without changing its angle.
03
Then drive
A session starts from the screen in front of the driver, without a mouse or keyboard.
The finish
The bodywork is painted to a colour reference you supply. Custom vinyl can be applied over the paint, and bespoke builds are handled individually.
Exterior finish
Red 000° / #AF020E
The colours shown here are representative. The simulator can be produced in other colours and finishes, matched to a reference you send us.
01
Paint
Any colour you can give us a reference for. Send a code, a sample, or the car.
02
Vinyl
Custom graphics and liveries applied over the painted bodywork.
03
Special projects
Bespoke projects with non-standard materials, finishes and configurations. Carbon fibre bodywork is available on selected special builds. Each project is quoted and developed individually.
The bodywork is formed as one continuous surface, with the lighting built into it rather than added on, and the chassis and hardware contained inside the finished form.
Software
The motion, the tactile feedback, the wheelbase and the actuators run on software developed in-house. Because the full chain is ours, the motion follows the physics of the simulation directly and every parameter can be tuned to the driver.
On top of that sits the launcher: a driver sits down, picks a car and a track on the screen in front of them, and goes. No mouse, no keyboard, nobody standing behind them. It runs the main racing and flight simulation titles used in the industry. The FAQ lists them.
